Stories of Denmark 1660 - 2000. Danish Modern History

98,00 DKK

The exhibition Stories of Denmark 1660 - 2000 opened in 2001 and represents the culmination of the chronological presentation of the Danish National Museum's history, from the first cultural traces of the region that was to become Denmark to the present. The guide book follows the division of the exhibition into three main chronological sections: Absolute Rule 1660 - 1848, People and Nation 1848 - 1915, and the Welfare State 1915 - 2000. With more than 5,000 exhibits in 37 rooms, the story of 340 years of Danish history is told. The country has changed radically during the period, from being a European superpower controlling the entrance to the Baltic, to becoming a minor nation finding its voice in alliance with other nations. The guide can be read in preparation for a visit or to look back on some of the many themes and subjects covered in the exhibition.
